Esther 2:10 says: “Esther had not told anyone of her nationality and family background, because Mordecai had directed her not to do so.” So what in the world is that supposed to mean you say? What does Esther not telling anyone who she is have to do with me? Well, first you need to hear a little bit of background information..
So, in Esther, if you read it up to the point of this verse, is about this King and his wife who throw this huge and long party for the nobles and other rich people in this country. The King throws a party for the nobles and other men and inside the palace, the queen threw a party for the women. One day, the king, (who was very inebriated), wanting to show off his beautiful wife to the many men and other nobles at his party so he sent a message to her asking her to come see him. She said no. (not that I blame her) Because of this the King got so ticked off that he got rid of her and began to look for another Queen. (I know that seems kinda stupid, but just stick with me here) So, he asked all young beautiful woman of each province to come to the palace so he could pick one that he liked and wanted to be his Queen. Esther was the cousin of Mordecai, who was the descendant of a tribe of people who had banished by a king that had came before the current one. Mordecai, had adopted and rasied Esther as his own since she was a child because both her parents had died. Mordecai, who knew his cousin would be going off to the palace, asked her to keep this quiet and not tell anyone of her family heritage.
The morale I want you to learn from this is simple: be yourself. Don’t let other people, whether is is your cousin or uncle or mother tell you to hid who you are or be different than you you are. Be proud of where you come from and how it has made you the person you are today. God made you a certain way with certain characteristics, nationalities and backgrounds for a reason, because he has a plan for you and your future and has always known where you would go and who you would be. Never let other people, force you to act or be a different way than yourself. The you, that you are is beautiful, magnificent, fantastic, and most importantly made in god’s image. You should NEVER forget that or let other people, feelings or situations in life force you to change that. He also made you free to be who you are, so don’t be ashamed of it!!
Everybody is different in their own way, never try to act or pretend to be something that you are not. Be happy with you are and what you have become and where you are going. I know it can be hard sometimes but try to believe me when I tell you that God does not make any mistakes, the way he made you is perfectly perfect the way he made it; the way it’s supposed to be. Don’t be an Esther! BE YOU 😊
